Case 4517. Odesa Oblast – Norway
Mikalai, … it was difficult to decide what to say to you in this letter, or rather, we decided on that at once, but we thought for a long time how to say thank you thoroughly, weightily, with all seriousness. Thank you, which can be commeasurate to what you have done for us. Not a mundane thank you, not a dutiful thank you, not a polite thank you, not a finate thank you, but one that reflects and demonstrates all our gratitude to you. Mikalai, and this gratitude is sincere, without limits and boundaries, without localization and nationality, without poetry and other people’s thoughts, not from obligation to be grateful for your help and unselfishness, but as real as it can be, without reflection, without mentioning the price we paid, without despondency, and not full of bravado. We’ll give it a try.
We know that there has always been a place for heroism in history, many movies have been made, books have been written, songs have been sung, poems have been read, paintings have been painted. Those heroes have names, some more famous, others less so. We could never imagine that we would be participants of such events, events where we would have to be rescued… and we don’t know your surname, but you yourself can go ahead (if we have the right to ask you and to allow you to do it) and write your name and surname here: …
Your name is that of the man who helped save four lives… … and the life of a cat of the Nibelung breed, Tim. And for all of us, Mikalai, you’re a hero. That’s what we decided for ourselves, and the rest doesn’t matter. Does it matter why you helped, out of guilt, a sense of duty, conscience, to show an act of good will, or because you saved yourself, out of a desire to be involved, was just a job or redemption? It doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is that you helped. Thank you! There are a lot of “cliches” here, of course, but for us it is the first time that we try to put it into words – our gratitude for saving our lives.
I will interrupt myself in this letter and say that the verses below are also about you and for you (find, read): Lina Kostenko – “Kryla”, Yuriy Izdrik – “Prayer”, Vasil Simonenko – “Do you know that you are a human being?” We remember you always, Mikalai, the family … from Ukrainian Odessa (we ended up mentioning locations and saying goodbye). Thank you for everything! 27.03.2024. Oslo, Norway

Case 10341. Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast – Norway
Good day to you! My name is … We relocated from Ukraine with the help of the Rubikus organization. I learned about Rubikus from my sister. I found them on their website and waited, having filled out a questionnaire. A few days later I received a call and was referred to our coordinator Mikalai. He assisted us with everything, he explained to us how best to do it and where to relocate, when to buy tickets and which route would be the most convenient. My daughter is disabled, she’s been disabled since she was a child. Mikalai looked for a country that would be suitable for us to get medical care. We are very grateful to him for this.
We decided on Norway. Mikalai accompanied us to the plane, and he constantly called and wrote to us. Norway welcomed us and provided us with everything, and we are happy here. Our daughter gets medical care free of charge, and we have never regretted coming here. We are grateful to everyone who helps people who are losing hope, and we would like to thank Mikalai in particular.
